JOB SUMMARY

The Pipe Journeyman serves an integral role in a fast-paced, high volume, distribution operation. This position interacts with multiple levels and departments within the organization as well as directly with customers. The pipe journeyman must be able to complete tasks and projects as assigned in a timely manner. This position requires extensive knowledge of the various types of pipes used in both commercial and residential applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Unloading inbound pipe trucks upon arrival
  • Verifies accuracy of pipe received noting exceptions and discrepancies
  • Receives inbound pipe into inventory
  • Puts inbound pipe away in appropriate storage bins
  • Maintains organization of the pipe yard
  • Cutting and threading pipe to customer specifications
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels of cut pipe in storage bins for sales
  • Demonstrates mechanical aptitude with machinery
  • Hands on team player who can work independently
  • Ability to obtain PIT certification
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • RF experience strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays as directed
  • Complies with all OSHA and Company safety regulatory practices

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of PVC, Copper, and Steel preferred
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
