Your Role & What You'll Do:
This position is responsible for activities from the time a site location is identified to finished site. The position works closely with architects to go over plans and blueprints, determine material and labor costs, negotiate with and hire subcontractors, coordinate and/or gather permits and making sure everything is code compliant and within budgetary guidelines and on time. This position requires heavy domestic travel (including overnight).
- Collaborate with general contractors regarding scheduling of phases of projects based on established deadlines
- Review proposals and plans from architects, vendors, contractors and other workers
- Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure high quality standards are met
- Maintain constant, effective communication with general contractors and leadership team
- Monitor construction progress, including productivity and compliance with building and safety codes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a strong background in the construction field of five or more years
- Travel required of up to 50% (overnight included)
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies; ability to read blueprints and understand other technical aspects of construction
- Ability to meet strict deadlines; ensure things are moving smoothly and address any exceptions to completion of building projects
- Ability to plan for multiple sites in all phases of completion
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to comprehend detailed information and communicate appropriately to various audiences
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
